Signs You Need Air Conditioning Repair: How to Keep Your Home Cool This Summer

Posted on: 15 February 2024

As the temperature outside begins to rise, keeping your home cool is crucial for maintaining comfort during the hot summer months. But what happens when your air conditioning system starts to act up? Unfortunately, air conditioning units tend to break down when they are working their hardest, meaning that the most common time for AC systems to malfunction is during periods of high heat and humidity. Here are some signs that your AC unit may be in need of repair, as well as tips for how to keep your home cool this summer.

Warm Air Is Blowing Out of Your Vents

If you notice that warm air is blowing out of your vents when you turn on your air conditioning unit, it’s a clear sign that something is wrong. One common issue that can cause this problem is a refrigerant leak. A qualified air conditioning technician can diagnose the issue and fix it properly before it gets worse.

Your Utility Bills Are Higher Than Usual

If you’ve noticed a sudden spike in your utility bills during the summer months, it could be a sign that your air conditioning system is not functioning properly. When an air conditioning unit is not working efficiently, it requires more energy to cool your home, leading to higher energy consumption and costs.

Your Air Conditioning Unit Is Not Keeping Your Home Cool Enough

If your home is not feeling as cool as it should be, it may be time to schedule an expert air conditioning service. Although this issue can be due to a variety of factors, the most common reason is usually a failing or malfunctioning compressor. Regular maintenance and repair can prevent this issue from occurring and keep your air conditioning unit functioning at its best.

Poor Airflow

If your air conditioning unit is not producing enough airflow, it could be due to a clogged filter, which can lead to higher energy usage. It’s important to check and replace your air conditioning unit’s filter regularly to ensure it’s working properly.

Regular air conditioning repair and maintenance are essential for keeping your home cool and comfortable during the hot summer months. By watching out for signs of AC issues and addressing them quickly, you can avoid bigger and more expensive problems down the line. If you notice any of these signs, schedule an appointment with an air conditioning repair service as soon as possible to keep your system working well all summer long.

Summer is Upon Us – Is Your AC Working?

Hi. My name is Laurie Waters. The HVAC contractor was just out at our house last week and did I ever get a lesson from him. You see, we had a warm spell hit and I went to turn our air conditioning on for the first time since last summer. Much to my dismay, it wasn’t working. All I got was a blast of warm air. The fan was bringing the outdoor heat inside. Thank goodness it wasn’t anything major. My unit needed Freon. While he was here, the contractor taught me how to do some routine maintenance around my unit, vents, and filters. I’m going to share this information with you. I hope you find it to be useful.
